Swimming pool plan for former casino

A FORMER casino could soon be getting a new lease of life. Planning permission is being sought to turn a section of Teesside Park's Rainbow Casino, which shut in 2016, into a swimming pool.

- By DANIEL HODGSON Local democracy reporter

The plans come alongside ambitions to enable local kids to learn the important life skill.

If Middlesbrough Council approves the plans and works are carried out, then the pool will be used by the company swim!, who provide swimming lessons for kids aged 0 to 11.

swim! say that their programmes are child-led and delivered by "experts in premium and family friendly facilities"

The cover letter explains that the area that would be used for the swimming pool previously formed part of a wider space, which was home to a casino, but sets out that the space has been vacant for almost a decade. The wider building now houses Ninja Warrior UK, directly next to the site earmarked for this aquatic development.
