Rugby pals' charity walk for brave Mylo
The Gazette
|July 03, 2025
MYLO Capilla’s pals have launched a charity drive for two conditions that the tragic schoolboy fought with “strength beyond years”.
-
However, the fundraiser, organised by Middlesbrough Under 13s Rugby Team, is the only one the family has authorised - and well wishers should refrain from donating to other unapproved collections, his relatives have stressed.
All Saints Academy student Mylo previously bravely battled both cystic fibrosis and cancer - the two causes that his friends and coaches from the team are raising cash for.
A full-scale search operation was launched after Mylo, 13, went missing on Thursday, June 26, after playing out with a friend at an area known as ‘The Muddies, near Ramsey Gardens in Ingleby Barwick.
Tragically, after night and day searches by multiple 999 crews, his body was found by officers searching the River Tees, which runs next to the site.
His heartbroken family thanked the emergency services and the community for all their support, saying: "Following the tragic loss of our beloved son Mylo, we, as a family, wish to express our sincere gratitude to the community for their overwhelming support."
