Professor puts in the miles to raise funds

Cormac Ryan, a professor of clinical rehabilitation at Teesside University, is tackling the race tomorrow, in support of Pain Concern, a charity dedicated to improving the lives of people living with persistent pain.

His fundraising effort will help the charity continue its work, particularly in pain education which he believes is key to better pain management.

Prof Ryan has been researching in the field of pain for over 20 years and has published more than 100 peer-reviewed articles

"I hope my fundraising helps Pain Concern continue its great work, especially in educating not just people with pain, but also their families, healthcare professionals, and employers," he said.

"Greater understanding leads to better support and less stigma".
