Nurse is struck off 'to protect the public'
The Gazette
|November 17, 2025
A NURSE who was initially suspended over a string of errors while working on Teesside has been struck off four years later.
In 2021 Jay Linus Fuentes was suspended from practice for three months after a catalogue of failures relating to patients in his care at a Teesside hospital trust.
At the time, between November 2017 and November 2018, he worked as a staff nurse at the North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust and a Nursing and Midwifery Council misconduct and lack of competence hearing found he struggled to perform the most basic of nursing skills.
Now, following three previous reviews of his situation, the council has decided to issue Mr Fuentes with a striking off order which will come into effect on December 8 this year.
After leaving Teesside he started a job near Cambridge in April 2020 as a healthcare assistant.
