New assistant boss liking what he's seeing at Boro
The Gazette
|July 09, 2025
NEW Middlesbrough assistant manager Adi Viveash has revealed he is already impressed with the Boro squad as the work on the training pitches picks up in preseason.
Rob Edwards' No 2 is getting to grips with the challenges ahead after making the switch to Teesside to join up with the new head coach.
Viveash enjoyed coaching success with Chelsea and then Coventry City, and was part of the backroom staff when the Sky Blues defeated Boro in the playoff semifinals two years ago.
He has not been in the North East too long, but is already excited by what can be achieved this season - and feels Boro have the right man in Edwards to spearhead their promotion challenge.
The Boro squad are now in Portugal for a week-long training camp in the Algarve before returning to the UK for their preseason friendly schedule, and Viveash is relishing the time with the players after a somewhat hectic last month.
"Yeah, it's been it's been a really interesting couple of weeks to be honest," he said in Portugal.
