Monarchs will be tough to overthrow: Edwards
The Gazette
|June 20, 2025
SIDELINED Redcar rider Jason Edwards believes that Edinburgh could prove harder to overcome than many people realise, especially after their shock win at Oxford on Wednesday.
The multi-national Scottish side are the visitors to the ECCO Arena tonight and track the same septet that built a nine-point lead at the halfway stage at Cowley, before eventually scraping home 45-44.
Edwards will be absent recover-ing from a broken shoulder sustained in a crash at King’s Lynn last week and could be out of the saddle for the next month.
Having been an integral part of the Bears team which has made such a successful start to the season, he is resigned to watching on television at his home in Essex but said: “I’ve always regarded Edinburgh as among the top clubs, although they may have been overshadowed by Glasgow's achievements north of the border recently.
