Man who posted racist material online avoids jail

KNIVES AND CANNABIS FOUND AT HIS ADDRESS
A MAN who posted "deeply alarming" racist material before police found a range of weapons in his home has escaped an immediate jail term.
Mark McMahon came to the attention of police after information was passed on about threat ening and racist content published on social media.
Cleveland Police said the content included "clear encourage ment of violence towards minority communities and elected officials, generating immediate safeguard ing concerns."
Within hours, officers attended the 61-year-old's address on Bethune Road in the Ayresome ward of Middlesbrough on November 12. There they found offensive weapons two flick knifes and a butterfly knife. A cannabis cultivation setup and large quantities of harvested cannabis were also discovered.
