VICTIM ALSO SUFFERED INJURY TO HIS EYELID

- By ESTHER HALLIGAN

A DAD-OF-SEVEN ushered his kids into the garden once he had driven them home from school and challenged his brother-in-law to a fight.

Husam Saleh, 43, took his coat off and walked towards his victim, on Granville Road in central Middlesbrough, on January 21.

Saleh’s brother-in-law had also arrived back home - he lived on the same street as Saleh - and the children watched as Saleh began punching his victim.

As he was attacked, the man reported feeling that his “finger was not there.” CCTV captured Saleh “hitting and scratching at his brother-in-law, with a small silver object”

Other residents on the street in central Middlesbrough intervened and the police arrived and arrested Saleh. He was taken into prison on remand.
