LANDLORDS PLAN TO TURN PUB INTO HUB FOR COMMUNITY

A LANDMARK pub is set to reopen its doors again, with the new licensees promising to breathe new life into the building.
The Fountain in Ormesby will be back in business on Friday, August 22, just in time for the Bank Holiday weekend. Local lads David Fagan and Gary Hamilton are taking over with a long-term plan of turning it into a family-friendly community hub.
Last orders were called at the mid-20th century public house on the High Street in January 2024, just under two years after it was given a huge six-figure makeover. It has been closed since.
The venue, which replaced the Red Lion, an old coaching inn, had been popular for its weekly quiz nights and live music entertainment. Gary and David have taken on a one-year lease of the pub and, after being handed the keys last week, they are busy getting ready for the grand launch.
