THE END OF SUMMER HERALDS THE ARRIVAL OF SOME SMASHING TITLES, FROM A NEW INDIANA JONES DLC TO THE LONG-AWAITED HOLLOW KNIGHT SEQUEL

- CHERYL MULLIN

THE summer holidays are officially over and the kids are going back to school.

September is here, ushering in a new school year, a new season and a plethora of new games.

And there's lots to be excited about, not least the arrival of the much-anticipated Hollow Knight sequel, Silksong, a new Borderlands game and Silent Hill f delivering chills as we slide into the spooky season.

Hollow Knight: Silksong

(PEGI 7) PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox X/S, Switch, Switch 2, PC

Release: September 4

Hollow Knight fans have been waiting eight years for this game.

Silksong follows the adventures of Hornet, former princess of the fallen kingdom of Hallownest as she explores the fallen insect kingdom of Pharloom.

Originally planned to be DLC for the 2017 original, developer Team Cherry announced in 2019 that the project had grown so quickly, they would be taking it forward as a standalone game.

While it retains that gorgeous animation style, there have been changes to the way Hornet moves and heals. Side quests are now part of the game, and Hornet carries a journal to allow her to track them.

Silksong’s map is said to be huge, with 200 new enemies to discover and 40 new bosses to take on.
