POP STAR OLLY MURS ON HEADLINING HARDWICK, NORTH EAST FANS AND ON BORO NEXT SEASON

OLLY Murs says he can't wait to headline the Hardwick Festival's main stage "because I love North East people and their energy".
Since finishing second on the X Factor in 2009, the Essex singer has forged a stellar pop career, notching up 18 top 40 singles, including four number ones, and a string of TV and radio appearances and sell-out tours.
He'll headline the Hardwick Festival on Sunday, August 17, on a main stage bill that includes Tom Walker, Scouting For Girls and The Wailers.
Other huge names at the three-day festival, which runs from August 15-17, include Scissor Sisters and the Pet Shop Boys.
And Olly who's currently on a huge UK tour told The Gazette he always looks forward to North East gigs, having in the past played in Middlesbrough’s Centre Square in 2013, the Darlington Arena in 2021 and last year as support for Take That at the Riverside Stadium.
