'Great accolade' for tailors after decades in town

TEAM CELEBRATE WEDDING AWARD WIN
THE owner of a popular tailors in Middlesbrough has reminisced on decades in the business, the move to weddings and occasionwear and making a groom feel as special as their bride.
Bakers Tailoring, in Linthorpe Road, was recently named Groomswear Supplier of the Year in the eighth English Wedding Awards.
It was 46 years ago when owner Paul Smith first started working at the tailors fresh from school, working his way up the ladder until he bought the business from its previous owner in the 1990s.
Now he's praised the dedication of his team, including manager Robin Bell, as their hard work and service is recognised in the recent awards.
"It’s a great accolade not only for the shop but for the town too,’ said Paul, 62. “It’s nice to see the team be recognised. Over the years we've found a niche which is the weddings and prom suits, or people going to the races for the day.”
