Gender of bodies discovered in flat revealed by police

THE two people who were found dead in a Ormesby flat are a man and a woman, Cleveland Police has confirmed.

An investigation into the unexplained death’s of the pair has entered its third day after police officers first attended the scene on Wednesday.

Cleveland Police officers were first spotted on Millbeck Way at around 2.45pm, with forensic officers at the scene throughout Wednesday and Thursday.

Photographs from the scene show smashed windows as well as boarded up panes.

Neighbours have told The Gazette that a couple had been living in the flat, although the identities of the man and woman have not been confirmed by detectives.

A 53-year-old woman, who has lived on a nearby street for over a decade, said: “I haven’t seen them for almost three weeks. I was saying, I think something might have happened in there.

“I had a funny feeling after a week that something wasn’t right. I thought maybe they were away and they'd come back.”
