Proposals for the former Norman Baum's Regency Suite on Kings Road, North Ormesby, have been submitted to Middlesbrough Council, with the planning department now needing to weigh up whether the idea should be given the green light.

If plans are approved, the permitted hours of opening will run from 9am to 5pm, Mondays to Fridays, while Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays will see the same start time allowed, but a later finish time of 7.30pm.

A separate document does highlight a later opening until 11pm on the last Friday of the month.

The applicant is requesting a “change of use” and work involves only “minor internal alterations”, according to supporting documents.
