TOMMY Conway is ready to embrace the responsibility of being Middlesbrough's main focal point for goals next season, after being handed the number 9 jersey by new boss Rob Edwards.

While Boro would ideally still like to sign at least one more centre forward this summer, having already held talks with Danny Ings, Conway is set to start the season as Boro's main man at the top of the pitch. In a huge show of faith from the new boss, the striker was immediately handed the coveted number 9 shirt at the start of the summer.
