Appeal after dog killed in hit-and-run near beach

POLICE have appealed to trace a driver after a dog was killed in a hit and run after it ran off from a walk on the beach.

Cleveland Police were called to Granville Terrace near Redcar beach at around noon on Saturday, August 30 following reports of a crash.
It was reported a woman was walking her pet chihuahua when it became spooked by another dog on the beach.
