DOCTOR Who actor William Hartnell once said children found his TV character like a “cross between the Wizard Of Oz and Father Christmas”.
The BBC sci-fi series was one of the highlights of the channel's Christmas Day offerings in 1965 and saw the Time Lord battling his old enemy the Daleks in an episode entitled The Feast Of Steven.
