36-year-old rapist sentenced to nine years in prison

A RAPIST who “groomed and controlled’ his victim has been jailed.

A jury found 36-year-old Hamed Kianipanah guilty of raping the woman following a trial at Teesside Crown Court.
Kianipanah was sentenced to nine years in prison, plus an additional three years on licence, for raping a woman at an address in Richmondshire in 2022.
Kianipanah was found guilty on June 5 of having unconsented sex with the victim. The jury heard evidence that Kianipanah had groomed and controlled the woman around the time of the rape.
