Old school building is set to be sold

The Old School building in Crossmichael is being leased to the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds

The Old School building in Crossmichael had been leased by the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds since the early 1990s.

However, the charity has walked away from its base, which also includes a large parcel of surrounding land.

Dumfries and Galloway Council has now declared the Old School as “surplus to requirements" and should “now progress through the disposal process as timeously as possible.”

A report on the matter will be presented to councillors at next week's economy and infrastructure committee.
