Uy: All Souls' Day, a reminder of love beyond death
The Freeman
|November 03, 2025
As the country observed the sacred pause in the rhythm of life during All Souls' Day, Cebu Archbishop Alberto Uy bannered the profound reminder of the bond and love that go beyond even after death.
In a reflection shared through social media, Archbishop Uy highlighted the importance of the observance of All Souls' Day—not merely as a date on the calendar, but as a moment when grief softens into remembrance and love transcends the silence of death.
Archbishop Uy called on the faithful to embrace the day not only as a time to mourn but also as an opportunity to renew faith in the resurrection and rediscover the enduring presence of their loved ones.
"Even if they have gone ahead, our love continues and we know their love for us continues too," Uy said, urging families to visit cemeteries not out of obligation, but out of devotion.
"It's a beautiful occasion for us to once again relish our love for each other," he further reminded the public.
