The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has assured commuters that public mobility will not be compromised, amid the nationwide transport strike set on Sept. 18.

Transport group, Piston, had announced its plan to hold a nationwide strike on Thursday, Sept. 18, to protest the alleged corruption in flood control projects implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

LTFRB Chairman Teofilo E. Guadiz III, in a statement released yesterday, said that the agency, in coordination with the Department of Transportation (DOTr), the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), and local government units, has activated contingency plans to prevent commuter disruption.
