Talisay City fire victims to receive P15,000 aid
The Freeman
|June 27, 2025
Fire victims in the City of Talisay will receive P15,000 in financial assistance per family from the city government following a massive fire that displaced around 1,000 individuals and over 200 families in Sitio Mananga II, Barangay Tabunok, last Wednesday.
During a visit to one of the evacuation centers at the Barangay Tabunok Sports Complex on Thursday morning, June 26, Talisay City Mayor Gerald Anthony “Samsam” Gullas Jr. assured residents whose houses were totally destroyed that they would receive cash aid.
However, Gullas explained that the distribution of financial assistance would be delayed due to the required processing and the unavailability of banks over the weekend. Distribution is scheduled to begin Monday and run until Thursday next week.
“Usually dire sa Talisay basta kung naay masunogan, tulo (lang) ka-adlaw moagi (kay) mahatag dayon ang financial assistance. Pero di man mi ka-withdraw og kwarta kay ang ika-tulo nga adlaw kay Dominggo man... Sunday man unta mi manghatag pero Dominggo man na, walay abli nga bangko,” he said.
“Makadawat ang tanan pero atong i-tigi-tigi lang... Lunes kutob Huwebes mahuman na og hatag ang tanan,” he added, emphasizing that all affected residents will benefit from the assistance.
