In a bid to bolster the verity of this view and in line with this year's observance of National Women's Month, we're running a series on specials whose names are tied to accomplished women – "conversation starters" (so to speak) that'll make for interesting discussions over a hearty meal.

Bloody Mary

The Bloody Mary is a cocktail made with vodka, tomato juice and a variety of spices and flavorings.

Ascribed to have been made by the French bartender Fernand Petiot in 1921 in the United States, it was referred to as "Bucket of Blood" in Petiot's earliest version, owing to its vodka-and-tomato juice base.
