President Marcos has ordered all government agencies to ensure simple Christmas and year-end celebrations in consideration for those affected by calamities that have hit the country.

At a press conference, Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro noted that many Filipinos have yet to recover following the strong earthquakes in Visayas and Mindanao and the typhoons that hit the country.

“Following the disasters in the country, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) reminded government agencies to keep the holiday season simple,” Castro said.

The Office of Civil Defense (OCD) reported that more than 60 individuals died and more than 20 are still missing because of Typhoon Tino.
