OWWA-7: Deployment of OFWs to Israel, Iran, Lebanon on hold

The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration Region 7 (OWWA-7) has confirmed that the deployment of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) from Central Visayas to Israel, Iran, and Lebanon remains on hold due to the Department of Foreign Affairs' (DFA) continued enforcement of Alert Level 3.

The alert level means that only voluntary repatriation is allowed, while newly-hired workers and those returning to their jobs classified as "balik manggagawa" are not allowed from leaving the country to work.
The OWWA-7 emphasized that deployment will only resume once tensions in the region significantly de-escalate.
“Even with the ceasefire agreement, and even with the full activity status in Israel, the Alert Level 3 in Israel, Iran, and Lebanon still remains,” said OWWA-7 Officer Christina Marie Vistal.
