Mandaue City Mayor Thadeo Jovito “Jonkie” Ouano has ordered the preventive evacuation of residents living in high-risk areas as Typhoon Tino approaches.

Executive Order No. 2025-057, issued yesterday, authorizes barangay officials to enforce the immediate evacuation of residents from danger zones to ensure public safety.

Under the order, Punong Barangays are directed to issue their own executive orders to carry out the evacuation, establish checkpoints, identify evacuation centers, and designate pickup points for transportation.

The Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), and other concerned agencies have been tasked to assist in the operations, maintain order, and prevent looting or intrusion.

The directive also mandates the City Health Office, City Engineering Office, City Social Welfare Services Office (CSWS), and Mandaue City Environment and Natural Resources Office (MCENRO) to ensure proper sanitation, health protocols, logistics, and relief distribution within the evacuation centers.

Mayor Ouano emphasized that the city’s top priority is the preservation of human life, stressing that the order took effect immediately upon signing and will remain in force until the typhoon threat has passed.
