Three Filipino women on their way to Hong Kong were arrested by the National Bureau of Investigation at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport last August 20 for having false overseas employment contracts.

According to a report from the Philippine News Agency, the three were posing as tourists when they were intercepted by members of the Border Control and Intelligence Unit during a routine inspection.

The three later admitted that they were recruited through a social media platform to work in Cambodia as "customer service representatives."

The Bureau of Immigration officer who let them through is now on the run and is set to face charges for violations of the Cybercrime Prevention Act and Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act.
