A centralized Eid'l Fitr celebration for Metro Cebu is set to take place at Plaza Independencia at 5 a.m. today, March 31, ahead of the nationwide holiday for the Islamic festival on Tuesday.

The Office of the Muslim Affairs and Indigenous Cultural Communities (OMAICC) of Cebu City announced yesterday that the event will be held for all Muslims in Metro Cebu who began fasting on March 2.
"This date accordingly had been agreed to ensure the completion of the 29/30 fasting days as prescribed, following Book 6, Number 2378," OMAICC stated.
