Mandaue forms task force against organized crime

In a sweeping move to dismantle organized crime, Mandaue City Mayor Thadeo Jovito “Jonkie” Ouano has signed an executive order creating a multi-agency task force following the recent arrest of nine Chinese nationals believed to be involved in human trafficking.
The suspects were apprehended during a joint rescue operation on July 2 that uncovered a suspected scam hub in a subdivision in Barangay Alang-Alang.
Mayor Ouano formalized the city’s response with Executive Order No. 2025-003, signed on July 7, which mandates close coordination between barangays and national law enforcement agencies to restore peace and order in the city.
The Multi-Agency Task Force will be led by the Mandaue City Police Office and will include the Bureau of Fire Protection - Mandaue City, the National Bureau of Investigation - Mandaue City District Office, the Regional Anti-Cyber Crime Unit VII, and the Department of the Interior and Local Government-Mandaue City, subject to the approval of their respective heads.
