Ako Bisaya Partylist Representative Sonny L. Lagon has categorically denied allegations linking him to a supposed meeting with controversial figures allegedly connected to the disappearance of several sabungeros (cockfighting enthusiasts).

The accusations were reportedly made by Dondon Patidongan, who claimed Lagon participated in a gathering involving businessman Atong Ang (dubbed “Group A”) where acts of violence were allegedly discussed.

In a statement issued Tuesday, Lagon condemned the claims as “baseless, malicious, and defamatory,” stressing that “there was absolutely no meeting, no vote, and no discussion” of any violent acts.

“These claims are not only false, but also utterly absurd, misleading, and defamatory,” Lagon said.

Lagon clarified that he has been a legitimate, law-abiding gamefowl breeder since 1998, earning multiple commendations for his contributions to the industry.

He acknowledged receiving an invitation to take part in Lucky 8 Star Quest Inc., a firm authorized by the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) to operate legal e-sabong (online cockfighting) activities.
