Barangay Ginebra firmed up its position inside the Top 4 as it turned back Phoenix, 119-112, in the PBA Season 49 Philippine Cup last Friday night at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.

The Gin Kings used a fiery 68-45 blast in the middle quarters to set the tone for this emphatic follow-up to their 85-66 crushing of Converge in Pampanga last Saturday and jack up to 4-2 overall.
As they put together their first back-to-back wins of the All-Filipino conference, the charges of coach Tim Cone grabbed a share of third and fourth with idle San Miguel Beer (4-2) and moved ahead of the FiberXers (5-3).
