The Cebu City Government has launched another road concreting project in Barangay Hipodromo, which will pave its 915-meter, oval-shaped road at an estimated cost of P10 million.
-
Cebu City Mayor Raymond Alvin Garcia led the ceremonial groundbreaking for the project on Friday. Garcia said the city is also exploring alternative exit routes for the area considering that the barangay only has one entrance and one exit.
Joining the mayor at the event were Councilor Joel Garganera; Councilor Jerry Guardo, Chairman of the Committee on Infrastructure; barangay officials; and North District Representative Rachel Del Mar.
Garcia emphasized the importance of proper road infrastructure for the residents of Hipodromo. The barangay's road layout resembles an oval, highlighting the necessity of durable pavement.
"This is a step forward, nga kini atong buhaton long term nga pag kaayo sa atong dalan, dili lang every year mag sige'g aspalto aspalto," Garcia said.

Fiesta in Dumanjug, home of great governors & contractors
The town of my late father, Dumanjug, is the most progressive town in the 7th District. It is the home of three governors and two fantastic contractors. Today and tomorrow, the Dumanjuganons celebrate the solemnity of the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi led by Mayor Gungun Gica and Vice Mayor Wado Gica. Shoutout to my relatives especially the great clan of the Quirantes, especially engineers Alan and Jonathan.
