City employees warned vs. electioneering

The Cebu City Council has approved a resolution reminding all government employees, including City Hall workers, to avoid any form of electioneering or partisan political activities.

With the 2025 midterm elections just around the corner and the 45-day campaign period for local candidates having begun, the council has approved a resolution from Councilor Edgardo Labella II reminding government employees to refrain from engaging in any electioneering activities.

The same resolution outlines that, as mandated in Section 2(4), Article IX-B of the 1987 Constitution, “No officer or employee in the civil service shall engage, directly or indirectly, in any electioneering or partisan political campaign.”
