City Council seeks opinions on SRP pedestrian overpass

The Cebu City Council has sought comments and recommendations from concerned offices, including the City Legal Office, on the proposed construction of a pedestrian overpass along the Cebu South Coastal Road before approving the right-of-way acquisition agreement.
In a letter to Mayor Nestor Archival Sr., dated July 29, 2025 and transmitted to the council, Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Regional Director Danilo Villa Jr. provided an update on the project, officially titled “Convergence and Special Support Program, Special Road Fund - Motor Vehicle User’s Charge (MVUC) as per R.A. 11239, Construction of Pedestrian Overpass along Cebu South Coastal Road including improvements within South Road Properties, Cebu City, Cebu.”
The planned overpass will span 48.56 linear meters within South Road Properties.
