Cebu City Hall drivers undergo training amid discipline concerns
The Freeman
|December 13, 2025
As complaints of reckless driving, unauthorized trips, and misuse of government vehicles continue to mount, the Cebu City government gathered all barangay drivers and heavy equipment operators for a full-day training at the South Road Properties (SRP) to restore discipline.
-
During the training, initiated by the Human Resource Development Office (HRDO), its head, Henry Tomalabcad, told participants that government service is not just about steering a wheel but about integrity and accountability.
"Wearing a uniform is not a license to break traffic laws," he warned, stressing that misconduct can quickly go viral and damage the city's reputation.
Tomalabcad also raised concerns over the unauthorized use of government vehicles for personal errands. He reminded drivers that every trip must be backed by an official ticket and emphasized that detours are strictly not allowed.
