Are the elephants no longer in the room?
The Freeman

In the midst of all the flood-control fiasco, where is Sen.
Bato de la Rosa? How about the biggest fish of them all, Zaldy Co? Has the court given Senator Jinggoy authority to travel abroad? When is Sec. Manny Bonoan coming home? Where are the owners of Wawao Construction, QM Builders, and Quirante Construction? Where are Harry Roque and Cassandra Ong?Can all these people and others be considered the elephants no longer in the room? It has become a pattern for an incumbent senator to disappear when facing a major problem with the law. I think it was Sen. Ping Lacson who blazed the trail and established a dangerous precedent. He might have been truly innocent of the crime imputed to him, but the end can never justify the means. As a lawmaker, he should be the last person to run away from the law.
How about Arnie Teves who went into hiding in Timor-Leste? We were fortunate that Timor-Leste cooperated in exchange for us not objecting to its longstanding application to be admitted as a full-fledged member of the ASEAN.
