3 PUV drivers lose license

Three public utility vehicle (PUV) drivers who tested positive for illegal drugs during random testing conducted last Holy Week in the Cebu's north and south bus terminals have had their driver's licenses revoked by the Land Transportation Office-7.

LTO-7 regional director Glen Galario said confirmatory tests confirmed the initial findings, leading to the full revocation of the drivers' licenses --the first such cases recorded for 2025.

"When they tested positive during our random inspection, we had to conduct confirmatory tests before we fully revoked their driver's licenses," said Galario.

Galario emphasized the importance of ensuring that not just vehicles, but drivers themselves are also "roadworthy".

"Kini pahimangno ni sa tanan natong mga drivers --dili lang sa pampublikong sakyanan apan sa tanang migamit sa kadalanan. This is to ensure nga dili lang ang sakyanan ang roadworthy, apil ang mga driver," he said.
