Police suspect Cong hand in shielding Mamkootathil

Police investigators suspect that senior Congress figures may have played a role in securing discreet accommodation and logistical support for Rahul Mamkootathil, who is wanted in connection with sexual assault allegations and remains out of reach despite an active search.

Officers involved in the probe said the circumstances surrounding his movements point to an organised network that enabled his absence from public view while warrants and notices were being pursued.

The investigation has highlighted the role of a Malayali lawyer based in Bengaluru who, according to officials, coordinated temporary shelter and essential arrangements for Mamkootathil. Police believe the individual has longstanding ties to influential groups in the city’s political and real estate circles, allowing access to locations that are difficult to track through conventional surveillance methods.

This support is understood to have extended beyond accommodation, creating a protective buffer that complicated the efforts of enforcement teams.
