PCMC’s Morwadi Chowk plan worsens traffic

The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation’s (PCMC) attempt to decongest the busy Morwadi Chowk— also known as Finolex Chowk—has backfired, with commuters alleging that the traffic situation has worsened after cement barricades were installed in the narrow square.

Morwadi Chowk connects key roads in the city, including the Old Mumbai-Pune Highway service roads, and provides access to the PCMC Metro Station. With several commercial complexes nearby and the PCMC headquarters in the vicinity, traffic movement in the area remains heavy throughout the day.
