Pamela Chopra: A rare behind-the-scenes gem

Pam Chopra was a singer, screenwriter, producer and dress designer; she was last scene in OTT release 'The Romantics' based on her husband Yash Chopra and son Aditya's Hindi film productions

Until the documentary 'Romantics' hit the OTT, very few, barring the film industry and film fanatics, knew that Yash Chopra's wife Pamela Chopra was a playback vocalist. She was the voice behind 'Ghar aaja pardesi' in 'Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge', 'Main sasural nahin jaoongi' in 'Chandni', to name just a few Bollywood hits from the Yash Raj banner, helmed by her later husband Yash Chopra.

Fondly addressed as Pam, Pamela Chopra died on Thursday at a Mumbai hospital. She was 74. She breathed her last at Lilavati Hospital where she was admitted after being diagnosed with pneumonia. She is survived by her sons, filmmaker Aditya Chopra and actor Uday Chopra.
