Navneet Rajput, Vice President — MEA, AP, ISC and Russia CIS, Mahansaria Tyres Pvt Ltd, discusses rising demand and innovations
-
What is the current market scenario of the Indian construction equipment industry?
The Indian construction equipment industry is on a strong growth trajectory, supported by large-scale infrastructure investments in roads, mining, ports, and urban development. The industry has not only recovered post-pandemic but is now witnessing record utilisation levels and rapid fleet expansion. With continued infrastructure spending planned over the next five years, we expect sustained momentum and healthy growth across all off-highway categories.
How do you view the demand trend for OTR tyres from the construction and infrastructure sector?
The demand for OTR tyres is very strong and continues to rise in line with the industry's expansion. Increased deployment of backhoe loaders, wheel loaders, dumpers, telehandlers, and compactors is creating consistent demand for highperformance tyres that can withstand tough Indian jobsite conditions.
Customers are increasingly looking for tyres that can deliver durability, better uptime, and value-driven lifecycle cost and Ascenso delivers to this demand perfectly. With more infra projects moving into execution stages, we anticipate multiyear growth in OTR tyre consumption, both in the OE and replacement segments.
