The campus of Bunts Sangha’s S M Shetty High School & Junior College came alive with intellect, articulation, and spirited debate as it hosted the Fourth Edition of the Silver Jubilee Oratorical Contest - ORATOR 2025 on in early July last year.
-
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 70 schools, comprising 60 students and 28 teachers representing SSC, CBSE, ICSE, and International curricula.
The oratorical contest, now in its fourth year, has grown into a signature inter-school platform that celebrates the power of words and ideas. This year’s theme-driven event unfolded in two stages — a preliminary speech round followed by an extempore final round, both designed to test clarity of thought, spontaneity, and depth of expression.
In the preliminary round, students from Grades IX and X chose from topics including ‘Rethinking Assessment: Beyond Standardized Tests’, ‘The Future of Work: How Automation Will Change Our Lives’, and ‘Sustainability Starts with Me’. Teachers spoke on equally relevant issues such as ‘Teaching Gen Alpha: Challenges and Joys’, ‘From Gurukul to Google: The Indian Education Journey’, and “The New ABCs: Adaptability, Balance, and Compassion.
