Meva for all in MVA nama

In a bid to capture voter support in Maharashtra's upcoming assembly elections, the Mahavikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance has unveiled an ambitious manifesto named "Maharashtra Nama." Released at a high-profile event at Mumbai's Trident Hotel on Sunday, the manifesto spells out the coalition's comprehensive agenda, promising measures aimed at women, farmers, the unemployed, and more, in hopes of steering Maharashtra towards prosperity by 2030. Key leaders at the event included Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Supriya Sule of the NCP, and Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut, all underscoring their vision for the state.

Among the high-impact promises in the MVA's manifesto is the provision of six cooking gas cylinders annually for women at a subsidised price of Rs 500, as well as a monthly stipend of Rs 3,000 for women under the Mahalaxmi scheme. For working women, the MVA promises two days of optional menstrual leave each month and free bus services on Maharashtra's ST network. Other initiatives include filling 2.5 lakh government vacancies, abolishing contractual hiring, and providing Rs 4,000 per month to educated unemployed youth. The manifesto also pledges 100 units of free electricity for households consuming under 300 units, along with an end to costly power bills for low-income families.
