The Union Cabinet on Wednesday termed the car explosion near the Red Fort a “terrorist incident”, expressing deep grief over the loss of lives and directing that the investigation be pursued with the utmost urgency to bring the perpetrators, collaborators, and their sponsors to justice without delay.

Chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Cabinet adopted a resolution expressing profound sorrow over the deaths in the attack and observed two minutes of silence to honour the victims.
