Walkout over motion on missing gold

Opposition members in the Kerala Assembly on Friday walked out after Speaker A. N. Shamseer refused to allow an adjournment motion addressing the 4 kilograms of gold missing from gold-plated copper sheets at the Sabarimala temple on the ground that the matter was before the court.
The motion, they said, was needed to respond to concerns from devotees following findings from the Kerala High Court.The High Court has ordered a vigilance probe after discovering a discrepancy of about 4.541 kilograms in the weight of the gold-clad copper panels, notably the coverings of the dwarapalaka idols and their pedestals.
