T'GANA LIBERATION DAY CELEBRATED WITH PATRIOTIC FERVOUR

Telangana Liberation Day was marked in a grand manner across the city on Wednesday, with the Central government and the state BJP jointly hosting programmes to remember the sacrifices of freedom fighters who fought against the oppressive Nizam rule and Razakars.

After the BJP came to power at the Centre, Home Minister Amit Shah has decided to celebrate the day officially. The party leaders said that the Indian Army and Central Forces have been celebrating this day for the past three years and the National flag was hoisted to celebrate Telangana Liberation Day under the auspices of the Central government.
At the Secunderabad Parade Grounds, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Minister for Culture and Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat visited a special Photo Exhibition on Hyderabad Liberation Day, organised by the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture. They were joined by Union Ministers G. Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay Kumar, as well as elected representatives from Telangana.
