Prakash Raj says National Film Awards doesnt deserve Mammootty

Veteran actor-director Prakash Raj, serving as the chair of the jury for the 55th Kerala State Film Awards, launched a pointed critique of the National Film Awards during the announcement of the state honours.
Speaking at the announcement event in Thiruvananthapuram, he asserted that the national awards system “does not deserve’ celebrated actor Mammootty and claimed that the awards are routinely handed to “files and piles” rather than genuine merit.The critique came on the same day the state awards were disclosed, with Mammootty being named Best Actor for his role in Bramayugam, a psychological horror directed by Rahul Sadasivan.
The state awards jury process this year encompassed 128 submissions, with Prakash Raj appointed as jury chair for the film category earlier, bringing his decades of industry experience to the role.
