Nehru affirms innocence in jobs scam

Minister K. N. Nehru has firmly rejected allegations made by the central agency investigating his state's recruitment process, saying he and his party will demonstrate their innocence.
He spoke after attending a consultative meeting for his party's booths in Tiruchi North and Central districts, declaring: “We will prove that we are innocent and come clean.”
The allegations centre on the Department of Municipal Administration and Water Supply, which processed direct recruitment for 2,538 posts.
The central agency claims it discovered evidence that bribes of ₹25 lakh to ₹5 lakh were paid per post in the 2024-25 and 2025-26 cycles.
