Interim protection to wife of drug accused in property usurp case

Both the prosecution and Jay have been directed to file their replies; Jay is also an accused in drug haul case

Jay Mukhi, the accused in the 2016 Thane drug haul case in which actor Mamta Kulkarni was a co-accused, has accused his wife Bijal and mother-in-law Jasmin Adulja of usurping his property.

In this matter, Bijal has approached the Thane Sessions Court seeking anticipatory bail, which was granted, with the court noting that “the element of cheating at the inception does not appear to be present at this stage”.

Bijals plea will be heard this week, and both the prosecution and Jay have been directed to file their replies. Mukhi is also an accused in the Ahmedabad drug haul case.
