Satya Ranjan Mohapatra, General Manager — Institutional Sales - Veedol Corporation, on pioneering breakthrough engine oils and greases

What is your focus for this exhibition in this edition?

This marks our fifth participation in an international exhibition of this nature, and this year we're focusing on two key products. Firstly, we are launching a synthetic gear oil that is now Flender-approved for the first time. While we did have a synthetic gear oil previously, it wasn't Flender-approved. This product is primarily designed for surface miners, and that is the specific segment we are targeting with this launch. Secondly, we have recently launched Silk Shield Supreme Grease, which offers a much longer drainage interval than anything we've offered before. This grease is mainly aimed at tippers from various OEMs, allowing them to benefit from extended drainage intervals.

What are the features of the new products you’ve launched?

The launch focuses on a new Synthetic Gear Oil and a specialized Lithium-Complex Grease. The new synthetic gear oil stands out due to its superior composition and environmental benefits, which is both 100% PAO-based and fully synthetic. A critical feature is its recent Flender-approval, which ensures significant versatility and a longer service life. Importantly, it's also biodegradable, reinforcing its environmentally friendly profile. The combination of these attributes—fully synthetic, biodegradable, and Flender-approved—truly sets this product apart. Veedol has introduced a specialized lithium-complex grease designed for significantly extended maintenance intervals. Traditionally, the drainage interval for greases is every 500 hours, but this new formulation extends that service interval to 1,000 hours. We have even proposed to some OEMs the possibility of extending this beyond 1,000 hours. While this new grease costs 20% more than the conventional products, the overall operational savings can be substantial—around 30%—thanks to reduced maintenance and fewer grease replacements.
